In light of the concerns regarding the news about food budget cuts in PA, we want to reassure everyone that The West Chester Food Cupboard remains committed to supporting our neighbors in need and providing the services that our community has come to rely on.
Our volume was up by over 30% last year and will grow significantly again this year. We estimate that our food costs will be up 40% this fiscal year due to this increased volume and significantly higher food costs.
The combination of increased need and concerns over future funding is challenging, but we will continue to do whatever is necessary to serve our neighbors and provide them access to good quality nutritious food.
We are grateful to the many people who have contacted us with support and encouragement and those who have phoned or emailed their federal lawmakers to express their concerns.
We send our sincere thanks to the many wonderful individuals and organizations who are supporting us with much needed financial gifts and donations of food. Thank you, thank you,
“…because no one should go hungry!”
