Boy Scout Food Drive Helps Fight Hunger

Thanks to our local Boy Scouts, this year’s annual “Scouting for Food” drive yielded nearly 7,500 pounds of much needed canned and packaged food donations for the West Chester Food Cupboard. This food will help us as we are serving nearly 600 households every month.

The generous donations of our West Chester residents is deeply appreciated at this time of year when so many of our neighbors are struggling to put food on their tables. But the need continues long after the gifts have been unwrapped and the decorations put away.

Food and monetary donations are always welcome at the Food Cupboard’s 545 E. Gay Street location, as are grocery gift cards. These allow the Food Cupboard to supplement its supplies with dairy products, fresh produce, baby formula and other items. Please consider a gift to those in need.

Among participating dens and packs were Cub Scouts from East Goshen Pack 122. They are shown here delivering donations of canned meats and fish, fruits and vegetables, pasta, cereals and other items. Thanks to all our neighbors who made this possible.
